The BC curriculum is very important for making sure that all students are able to have all the knowledge and skills that they will need to become a successful person and contribute to our society. It is a framework of big ideas, core competencies and content that students will need to know. However, since it is a framework, teachers are able to take the information that students need to know and can teach it in the best way possible to help students succeed in school. I personally really like the freedom that this curriculum encourages. Teachers can do more place-based learning, hands on activities, or even more technological lessons.
