Course Work That Tells My Teaching Story

This is an assignment that I did as a first-year student at TRU. This is a Geography 1000 class assignment where we given the choice to do one final assignment with a lot of writing or we got to become co-creators of a map documenting all the damages from the floods in 2021 (my name is spelt Johah Hunchak though). This was a very fun assignment, and it made me come to the conclusion that the ability to choose and take part in a very cool opportunity is amazing and I remember it to this day. It is a type of excitement I had to learn and create something that I want every student to have when in my class.

Understanding the November 2021 B.C. Flood Damage

This assignment is a creative assignment of our time doing the EDPE 3100 course. I really enjoyed the community aspect of this assignment. We were able to come together and play games with one another. We learned to support each other and grew stronger as a cohort because of it. Reflecting on the semester through the creative assignment I realized how much fun, laughter, and joy that the class brought us. We were given the opportunity to just be human with one another and that is something that I would love to build in my classroom when I am a teacher myself.

In EDSC 2025, we spent every week doing science experiments, practicing our teaching, and learning from one another. I would like to come up with fun and engaging assignments as enjoyable that we did this semester. This video also shows more of my growth in this form of media and art style. It reminded me that growth is a powerful thing if you continue to support it and work at it. I would like to foster a community in the classroom where students are excited to come and learn about what we will be doing that day. Eagerly waning to experience and explore the real world around us for it’s wonder and beauty. This assignment made me reflect on all these different ideas and aspects of it.
