The Professional Standards for BC Educators is, like many resources for teachers, a guide. It is supposed to help educators with growth as a teacher. It helps them with their practice, professionalism and how they communicate what they expect from students to the public. These help remind teachers about what they are supposed to value, how to act, and grow. It is essential to have teachers continue to strive to be the best teacher they can be. A lot of this is common sense. It is good to have because when a teacher is not following it they can be called out and be referenced to these standards.
