LIT:
I have had a lot of volunteer experience. As stated in my educational influence’s timeline, I did the Leader In Training (LIT) program. This was a program that was where young students would go and learn to be a leader out at a summer camp for a month. I was really happy to have this opportunity because it was my dream to be at Eagle Bay since I was 9 years old. Through this I was able to learn responsibility and how to lead a cabin of young kids. It was so much fun, and I felt like if I had to cabin lead all year long I could do it.
Tech Support Assistant:
In Revelstoke I helped at the Alliance Church there. I would work the power point slides and the sound system there. I actually was the one who set up and put in their current sound system. It was a helpful experience to encourage me to continue to learn and want to figure things out myself because I had little to no idea of what I was doing. However, it was more than most of the older people who attended that church at the time. When I was able to learn something new and use it to solve a problem with the sound system it was the best feeling, and I would love to continue that journey of always looking to learn and grow more.
Young Life:
Young Life is a church organization about reaching out and support youth as much as possible even outside of the Christian faith. We would normally come together once a week and hangout playing games and just having fun with them. The relationships built at Young Life are so strong and encouraging to all the students. I look at Young Life as a good inspiration in their ability to grow and build those relationships with students. There is so much support and participation that the students give. I would feel so lucky to have a class as family-like as they do.
